Focusing on Multi-Functional Cards and RFID, Enhancing Technological Progress and Industrial Applications
–New Contributions to Be Made at the 12th International Fair of Smart Cards, China 2009
With the fast development of smart cards and FRID industry in China, the ten-year meticulously cultivated International Fair of Smart Cards, China (SCC) has became the one with the highest authority, largest scale, most exhibitors and greatest influence in China and even in Asia. It has established its position as the top meeting in the heart of domestic and overseas vendors of smart cards. As a platform for regular communications of the industry, SCC outlooks the international development trend of smart cards and RFID industry, promotes advanced solutions, explores effective business models in the way of fairs, forums and various kinds of other means, which greatly enhanced the application of smart cards and RFID technology in different industries in China.
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Golden Card Project, SCC2008 (June 4 to June 6) specially set up Exhibition Area for Reports on the 15th Anniversary of Golden Card Project and Exhibition Areas for Innovation and Development. China Mobile, China Unionpay and some other subscribers, together with Shanghai, Qingdao, Dalian, Shandong, Tianjin and some other provinces and cities assembled and presented the impressive progress achieved by relevant national departments (industries) and the first batch of pilot provinces and cities during the 15-year development of Golden Card Project. They also presented the new products and outstanding achievements of domestic information industry to provide good product complement and technical support. Over 200 smart card software and hardware vendors and RFID vendors gathered together in the 10,000-square meter-exhibition hall as well as some 50 technical application seminars to demonstrate advanced technologies and discuss the market development trend. Participators consisted of Renesas, ST, NXP, Datacard, Basch, Melzer, Boewe Cardtec, Boewe Systec, Evolis, Dynabond, Spatanics, Pyral, Barnes, Inside, Henkel, Micropross, VCT from the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and some 16 countries and regions.
As smart cards are applied in more and more fields, they are establishing a closer and closer relationship to national interest and people's livelihood. The themes and topics of SCC each year also advance with times, from simply card production and tool read-write at the beginning, to financial IC cards, small amount payment, intelligent traffic, electronic medical care, food security management and some other fields of integrated application. At present, the total circulation of smart cards in China has exceeded five billion. One person holding more than one card is becoming a common phenomenon in the society. How to take full advantage of the smart card usage and expand the trans-departmental and trans-regional cooperation for application has become a common concern of the government, the industry and users. The emerging RFID technology is rapidly applied and promoted in many fields such as commodity anti-counterfeit, industrial production and security management, animal electronic identification, and logistics management. It is becoming the latest technological highlight in smart card industry and the focus in and out of the industry.
SCC 2009 (April 28 to April 30, 2009) will adapt to the demand of the society, focus on multifunction cards and RFID technology and solutions, advance the R&D, production and application of one card for multiple uses, and add fuel to the flames for future development of smart cards.
